ICC has revealed the amount of money the winner of the T20 World Cup will receive. The global tournament will have 20 teams competing for almost a month at nine different venues in the West Indies and United States of America.
The runner-up of the tournament will get $1.28 million. While the semi-finalists unable to advance to the final will get $787,500 each.
Teams losing in the second round will get $382,500 per team. The teams vying for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th place will get $247,500 each.
Team standing at 13th to 20th position will each get $225,000. Besides, every team winning matches before the semi-final and final will get an additional $31,153 for each match.

There will be 40 matches in the first round leading to Super 8s, after which the semi-finals will be played in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana. The final match of the tournament will be played at Kensington Oval in Barbados
Announcing Prize money for the tournaments, ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said “This event is historic in so many ways, so it is fitting that the prize money for players reflects that. Hundreds of millions of fans around the world will be entertained by the players in what we’re hoping to be an Out of This World event.”
