Cricket Buzz Today: In the latest update to the ICC Men’s Player Rankings, England’s Liam Livingstone has secured the top spot as the No.1 T20I all-rounder, thanks to a series of impressive performances against Australia. Livingstone’s all-around abilities were on full display during the home T20I series, where he showcased both his batting and bowling skills.
Livingstone’s standout performance came in the second T20I, where he was named Player of the Match. His explosive 87 off 47 balls and his economical bowling figures of 2/16 from three overs helped him leap to the top of the rankings. Despite England losing the first T20I, Livingstone still shone with 37 off 27 balls and bowling figures of 3/22 from his three overs.
This stellar run has propelled him seven spots up the rankings, now sitting at a career-high rating of 253. Livingstone enjoys a comfortable 42-point lead over Australia’s Marcus Stoinis, who is in second place with a rating of 211. Following closely behind are Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza with a rating of 208 and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan with 206.
Livingstone’s performances not only boosted his all-rounder ranking but also saw him climb 17 places to 33rd in the T20I Batting Rankings. Meanwhile, Australia’s Josh Inglis made a remarkable leap into the top 10, thanks to his solid contributions in the series, with scores of 37 (27) and 42 (26). Travis Head maintained his No.1 batting position with strong scores of 31 (14) and 59 (23), and Matthew Short made an impressive 44-spot jump to enter the top 100.
On the bowling front, Adam Zampa moved ahead of South Africa’s Anrich Nortje, with spinners now dominating the top six of the T20I Bowling Rankings. Zampa, with a rating of 662, is just one point behind Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, who is in fifth place. England’s Adil Rashid continues to lead the bowling rankings with a rating of 721, having claimed wickets in both matches against Australia.
There were significant shifts in the ODI rankings, particularly in the Cricket World Cup League 2 series in Canada and Namibia. Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus climbed to fifth in the All-Rounder rankings with a rating of 242 after contributing with both bat and ball in a match against the USA. Similarly, USA captain Monak Patel entered the top 50, reaching 46th place after scoring a half-century in the same fixture.
By continuing to perform at this level, Liam Livingstone is cementing his status as one of the top all-rounders in international cricket. At the same time, England and Australia’s fierce rivalry ensures the rankings remain dynamic.
